Wood-burning fireplaces — real fire and real heat
Nothing replaces a wood fire: crackling logs, the scent of wood and warmth that spreads through the whole house. Modern glass-fronted fireplace inserts are safe, efficient and burn cleanly — ideal for country houses and private homes.
Types
- Fireplace inserts — closed combustion chamber with glass, built into cladding or a mantel; front, corner, three-sided or see-through glass; side-opening or lift-up doors.
- Wood stoves — freestanding models that only need a chimney connection.
- Heat-storage fireplaces — inserts with heat-accumulating modules that keep releasing heat for hours.
How to choose
- Output — roughly 1 kW per 10 m² of a well-insulated room.
- Chimney — diameter and height must meet the manufacturer’s requirements.
- Air supply — for airtight modern homes choose models with an external air intake.
- Glass shape — front, corner, three-sided or see-through, depending on the room layout.
Wood or another type?
No chimney possible, e.g. in an apartment? Consider bioethanol, electric or steam fireplaces. For strong heat with push-button control, see gas fireplaces.
Installation and safety
Installation must be done by qualified professionals following chimney and fire-safety requirements. We will help you choose the right insert for your project.
