Dimplex Cassette 500 P PS — classic Opti-Myst flames in bioethanol style
A 508 mm cassette for building into a recess, surround or furniture. Opti-Myst technology turns ordinary water into a cold mist lit by LEDs, creating a three-dimensional flame with gentle smoke that is hard to tell from the real thing. The P version connects to the water supply and runs without refilling. The PS version has no logs — a clean flame line in the style of a bioethanol fire.
What makes it special
- Classic Opti-Myst effect. moving orange flames with smoke; intensity is adjustable from the remote.
- Bioethanol look. no logs — a clean flame line for modern interiors.
- Crackling logs. crackling sound effect switched on from the remote.
- Modular. joins other Cassette 500 and 1000 units into a line of any length with near-invisible seams.
- Easy control. Bluetooth remote and wired remote; several fires can share one remote.
- No refilling. a direct water connection lets the fire run continuously.
How it works
An ultrasonic transducer breaks water into micro-droplets. The cold mist rises above the fuel bed and is lit from below by LEDs, producing moving flames and soft smoke. The mist is not hot: it is safe to touch, leaves no soot and adds a little humidity to the room.
Installation and care
The cassette fits into a frame or surround made of any material; height is set with adjustable feet. The control panel is hidden, and both a Bluetooth remote and a wired remote are included. See the manufacturer's manual for installation dimensions.
The fire is connected to the water supply and runs without interruption — no refilling. If plumbing is not possible, look at the R version with a built-in tank.
