A-FIRE Steam Generator Replacement Guide
Maintenance frequency for the steam generator and fireplace
How often maintenance is needed depends on how intensively the device is used:
- Residential premises (house, apartment): maintenance once a year is usually enough to keep the device working reliably and the flame looking realistic.
- Intensive use (hotels, restaurants, public spaces): for commercial properties with frequent use, maintenance is recommended every 2,500–3,000 operating hours to keep the fireplace working efficiently.
Steam generator replacement instructions
The ultrasonic steam generator is an important consumable part of steam fireplaces. Its average service life is 2,500–3,000 hours or a maximum of two years. If the insert has stopped producing mist, the steam generator most likely needs replacing.
Unlike most similar devices on the market, replacing the steam generator in A-FIRE fireplaces is a simple process that does not require dismantling the device. Simply remove the top cover to access the steam generator tank. This saves a lot of time, especially when servicing models 1 m long and more, which are heavy and awkward to move.
Useful tips
- Testing: for devices 1 m (40 inches) or longer, swap the faulty steam generator with a working one to make sure it is the cause of the problem.
- Prevention: always keep spare steam generators, especially for commercial properties, to avoid downtime.
- Number of steam generators in a device: a steam insert has 1 steam generator for every 50 cm².
Important!
The AFIRE ultrasonic steam generator is a special device with adapted voltage. Using an unsuitable steam generator may damage the fireplace and void the manufacturer's warranty.
